The Xbox console was released in November of 2001 by Microsoft, it being the company’s first debut in the gaming market. It was a unique console at the time, not only for its futuristic look, but also for its gaming pc components such as DirectX graphics from which the Xbox derives its name. Unlike its competitor PlayStation, it featured an ethernet port, and better processing power. The Xbox would also be the debut of the Halo franchise, with Halo 2 having the most copies for the console sold at over 8 million.
Halo 2, developed by Bungie Inc is the best selling game of the Xbox Original.
